- Brownfield project: Existing production facility or infrastructure that were operational earlier but now in an idle state or vacant and which can be further upgraded and modified for the new project are known as brownfield projects. for example; Chennai Airport.
- Greenfield Project: Greenfield projects are the projects which are built from the ground zero level that is built from scratch. It starts from the land acquisition. For example; Jewar Airport.
- Access controlled Highway: Highways or expressways that are designed for high-speed vehicles with all traffic entrance & exits and provides a smooth flow of traffic with no traffic signals, intersections and property access is known as access controlled highway.

Delhi-Mumbai expressway is a greenfield 8 lane access-controlled expressway which will extend to 12 lanes in the near future and will connect Delhi to Mumbai. Initially the project length was 1350 km but now it is 1380 km in length because a 30 km link expressway has been approved to improve the connectivity with Jewar airport. The link expressway connects Ballabgarh, Faridabad to Jewar airport, Jewar. The foundation stone has laid on March, 2019. The link expressway would consist of 6 lanes.
After the completion of Delhi-Mumbai expressway it would be termed as the longest and busiest expressway in India. The Delhi-Mumbai expressway starts from DND flyway in Delhi & finishes in Jawaharlal Nehru port in Maharashtra via Faridabad, Gurugram, Mewar, dausa, ratlam, Vadodara, surat and Virar. This expressway passes through Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. This project’s construction is divided into 4 sections which further breakdown into 52 packages.

Benefits- Currently Previously it takes almost 24 hours to travel from Delhi to Mumbai but with the completion of Delhi-Mumbai expressway, the travel time will reduces to 12 hours. The permitted speed limit on this expressway would be is 120 km/hr. For providing benefits to the passengers they are implementing 94 way-side amenities which include petrol pump, rest rooms, restaurants, charging stations and for emergency service, helipads are available. The Delhi-Mumbai expressway is known as the longest expressway in the world after its completion.

Dwarka Expressway which is also known as northern peripheral or NH 248-BB is an 8 lane access controlled elevated highway. The expressway starts from Shiv Murti in Mahipalpur, Delhi and ends at NH-48 near Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurgaon, Haryana. The objective to build this expressway is to improve the connectivity between Delhi and Gurgaon. The project was proposed in 2006 and the foundation stone was laid in March 2019. The reason for delay was the land acquisition issue and tree transplantation barrier resulting, the involvement of MODI government in 2018 to resolve the issue. The 18.9 Km long road comes under Gurugram and 10.1 Km road comes under Delhi. The whole project is divided into 4 packages.

Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway also known as Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is a 6 lane (expand to 10 lane in future) access-controlled expressway in Maharashtra which connects two capitals i.e. Mumbai & Nagpur. This is the longest greenfield ground project in India. The expressway is implemented by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
The Mumbai-Nagpur expressway connects Shivmadka village in Nagpur to Amane village in Thane via Wardha, Amravati, Buldhana, Aurangabad, Nasik and Ahmednagar. The expressway crosses 10 districts directly, 14 districts indirectly, 24 takulas and 392 villages. The project will connect the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai to MIHAN in Nagpur for providing a logistic gateway to national & international trade.
For the safety & security measure a telephone booth and CCTV will be installed. The maximum allowed speed is 120 km/hr. As of now 70% of work has been completed and Nagpur-Shirdi stretch will be operational soon, which is 502 km in length.

Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad expressway is a 6 lane highway which further extends to 8 lanes in near future. The FNG expressway connects NH24 with NH2 via Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad. It 20 km of expressway passes through noida- greater noida region. Through the FNG expressway, it will improve the connectivity between Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad.

Purvanchal Expressway, a 6 lane highway which further will expand to 8 lanes in the near future, is an access-controlled expressway in Uttar Pradesh, India. This expressway was declared by Akhilesh Yadav as Lucknow-Azamgarh-Ballia Expressway in 2015. Afterwards, the path was changed by Yogi Adityanath government as Lucknow-Azamgarh-Ghazipur and in 2018, the foundation stone was laid by PM Narendra Modi.
The Purvanchal expressway will connect Chand Sarai village in Lucknow with Hydariya village on NH-31 in Ghazipur via Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhaya, Azamgarh and Ghazipur. The expressway/ project is divided into 8 packages;
- Package 1- Chand Saray, Lucknow to Sansara, Barabanki (40.4 Km)
- Package 2- Sansara, Barabanki to Jarai Kalan, Amethi (39.7 Km)

Bangalore-Mysore Expressway is a greenfield and brownfield 10 Lane expressway in Karnataka, the expressway is executed under Bharatmala Pariyojana and has 6 lane access controlled highway with 4 lane service highway. 80% of work has been done on this project.
The Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Road or NICE Road is also known as the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure corridor which connects Bangalore to Mysore. The expressway starts from Kingeri on NICE road in Bangalore and ends in Naguvanahalli in Mysore via Ramanagra, Maddur, Mandya and Srirangapatna. Usually it takes 3 to 4 hours of traveling from Bangalore to Mysore but after this expressway the travel time is reduced to 90 mins only and the project is divided into two packages;

Gorakhpur Link expressway is a 4 lane expressway in Uttar Pradesh which will expand to 6 lanes in the near future. The expressway was launched in 2018 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Gorakhpur link expressway connects Jaitpur village in Gorakhpur with Salarpur village on Purvanchal expressway in Azamgarh. It passes through Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar and Azamgarh. As of now 32% of work has been completed. The project construction is divided into two packages.

Ambala-Kotputli expressway also known as Ambala-Kotputli economic corridor is a greenfield 6 lane access-controlled highway which connects Ambala, Haryana to Kotputli, Rajasthan via Ismailabad, Pehowa, Narnaul, Assandh, Kalanaur and Charkhi Dadri. After the completion of this project it would be much easier to travel from Chandigarh to Jaipur. As of now the current travel time is 9 hours but through Ambala-Kotputli expressway, the travel time between Chandigarh to Jaipur would be 5 hours only. The 227 km greenfield corridor from Ismailabad, Haryana to Narnaul is known as the Trans-Haryana Expressway which is a part of ambala-kotputli expressway. The project is being built under Bharatmala Pariyojana and 85% of work has been completed.

Bundelkhand Expressway is a 4 lane access controlled expressway in Uttar Pradesh which further will expand to 6 lanes in near future. The project was launched by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in April 2017 and developed by Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).
The Bundelkhand Expressway starts from Gonda Village on NH-35 in Chitrakoot and ends in Kudrail village of Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Etawah via Bharthana, Achalda, Phaphund, Auraiya, Kuthund, Jalaun, Orai, Rath, Banda and Atarra.
The Bundelkhand expressway is categorized into 6 packages. Usually it takes 12 hours to travel from Chitrakoot to Delhi however through the Bundelkhand expressway the travel time would be 8 hours only. As of now 82% work has been done.

Suryapet- Khammam expressway is a greenfield & brownfield 4 lane access controlled highway in Telangana and comes under NH-365BB. The expressway starts from Suryapet in Telangana and ends in Khammam via Mothey and Paleru. The objective to develop this expressway is to convert the current 2 lane highway into 4 lane highway and it also improves the connectivity between Khammam and Hyderabad. Almost more than 60% of work has been done on Suryapet-Khammam expressway.
